Slano is a
small picturesque town on the Dubrovnik Riviera, situated 40 km North-West of Dubrovnik, in the 2 km long bay which has always been a safe haven and shelter from the storm.
Slano has about 550 inhabitants who are mainly engaged in tourism, olive oil production, fishing, viticulture and sheep breeding. Slano is rich in historical and cultural monuments like the Roman sarcophagi from the 5th century, Franciscan convent from the 14th century, counts’ palace from the 15 century, many small churches and chapels, remains of Illyrian settlements and Renaissance and Baroque buildings.
